On October 12, 2025, I performed a live painting at the Fuchu Art Parade.
It was a large one-day festival held on a pedestrian-only street, filled with art and music throughout the day.
The event took place in the city of Fuchu, at the foot of Okunitama Shrine.
Families and many children gathered, creating a lively and warm atmosphere from morning to evening.
2025年10月12日、府中アートパレードにてライブペインティングを行いました。この日は、歩行者天国で行われる、アートと音楽にあふれた大きな一日限りのお祭りでした。
会場は、大國魂神社のおひざ元、府中の街。家族連れやたくさんの子どもたちが集まり、一日中あたたかくにぎやかな空気に包まれていました。
The live painting began with the sea
ライブペイントは「海」から始まりました
The first image to appear was a sea motif from my Sui series.
The painting started from a quiet, expansive blue.
On this day, I did not decide on a final form in advance.
Instead, the painting was continuously layered over and transformed throughout the day.
最初に描き始めたのは、Suiシリーズの「海」をモチーフにした作品。
静かに広がる青から、すべてが始まりました。
この日は、完成形をあらかじめ決めず、絵を塗り重ねながら、どんどん変化させていきました。
Between Performances
『パフォーマンスの合間に』
頑張らない瞬間も、ちゃんと尊い
The next work to emerge was Between Performances.
It depicts a street-performing rabbit taking a quiet rest during the parade.
Even when we are not performing or striving, the time spent simply being still holds its own value.
his piece carries that gentle message.
次に現れたのが Between Performances 『パフォーマンスの合間に』です。
パレードに参加していた大道芸人のうさぎが、ひとやすみしている姿を描きました。
何かをしていなくても、がんばっていなくても、ただ「いる」時間にも、ちゃんと価値がある。
そんな想いを込めた作品です。
A Parade of Moss Spirits
『苔の精霊の行進』
人間が主役じゃない祝祭
The third piece was A Parade of Moss Spirits.I
t portrays a gentle and mysterious world where moss spirits march together in a parade.
続いて描いたのは A Parade of Moss Spirits。
苔の精霊たちがパレードをしている、やさしく不思議な世界を描いています。
It is a celebration where humans are not the main characters.
Instead, nature itself quietly takes the lead.
それは、人間が主役ではない祝祭。自然そのものが、静かに主役となる世界です。
This work expresses the idea of living together with nature.
自然と共に生きるという感覚を、この作品に込めました。
As music echoed through the streets, I layered colors one after another,
and the painting transformed rapidly before our eyes.
街中に鳴り響く音楽に合わせて色をどんどん塗り重ね、
絵は目まぐるしく姿を変えていきました。
Just Laugh
『笑顔がもたらす幸せ』
The final piece completed that day was Just Laugh.
この日、最後に仕上げたのが Just Laugh です。
Three stacked Halloween pumpkins smile brightly at the viewer.
三つ重なったハロウィンのカボチャが、満面の笑顔でこちらを見ています。
There doesn’t need to be a reason.
Laughing itself can be happiness.
This work carries that simple and warm message.
理由なんて、なくてもいい。
ただ笑うこと、それ自体が幸せ。
そんなシンプルであたたかいメッセージを込めました。
As the painting changed, the children kept returning
絵が変わるたび、子どもたちは戻ってきた
During the live painting, the artwork transformed again and again.
The children would come to watch, walk away, and then return again.
Each time they returned, they discovered that the painting had changed.
Some children stayed for hours, quietly watching the entire process.
ライブペイント中、絵は何度も姿を変えていきました。
子どもたちは、見に来ては離れ、また戻ってきて。戻ってくるたびに、絵が変わっていることを楽しんでいました。
中には、何時間もその場に立ち続け、ずっと見ている子も…♬
Time spent with future artists
未来のアーティストたちと過ごした時間
That day, I had the chance to talk with many children.
Children who love to draw,
Children who carefully observed the changing colors,
Children who asked questions with curiosity.
There were many “future artists” gathered in that place.
Spending time with them became a precious gift for me as well.
この日、多くの子どもたちと話すことができました。
絵を描くことが好きな子。
色の変化をじっと見つめる子。
質問をしてくれる子。
そこには、たくさんの「未来のアーティスト」たちがいました。
その時間は、私にとっても、とても貴重な贈り物となりました。
